It’s even near Vereen Memorial Gardens, a nature preserve on the Intracoastal Waterway with boardwalks and lots of exciting wildlife. Jimmy Buffet-style beach and summer music are the theme for a vineyard summer festival. Two live bands, a vineyard tour, exotic frozen wine drinks, wine sampling, prizes, and lots of summertime fun will be on the agenda. This is a barbeque, so come hungry. Did you know that South Carolina’s rich history dates back to British rule? The Crown appointed Lord William Campbell, a British nobleman married to a South Carolina woman, as the state’s royal governor. He held the office for only a few months because he so upset wealthy plantation owners who supported the movement to break from England. A quick departure by boat saved his life.
