First, figure out what the worst part of your game is: long, short, strength? Also, getting in shape would improve your game, adding strength and stamina. Consider having your clubs analyzed, and discuss “draw weighting” with a club expert. Change your swing by placing club weights in different spots on the club head. If you are a consistent ball striker, consider replacing your irons with “forged” blades to sharpen your aim.

The Intracoastal Waterway serves as a means of linking boats from Florida to Maine and in between. Equally important, bridges across the waterway link golfers with courses, oceanfront resorts with shopping, and inland vacationers with the beach. If you drive across the swing bridge in Cherry Grove, you’re driving across the waterway. When you dine in Little River, you’re dining beside the waterway. It’s THAT important! Have you seen the waterway today?

On this Veterans’ Day when we honored those serving in the armed forces, a fast moving storm blew through our area on Wednesday, leaving much needed moisture in farm and pastureland, golf courses, residential yards, and gardens. The excess on roadways and low-lying areas prompted the emergency notification centers to issue flood warning and watches to Horry County, but by mid-afternoon the heaviest of the downpour had passed.

Expect government offices to be closed on Wednesday, November 11th, Veterans’ Day. This special day has been in effect since 1919 when President Wilson first proclaimed it as “Armistice Day,” commemorating a period of thanksgiving and gratitude to all who served and sacrificed for our country.

Called “The Woman Who Flummoxed the Fairies,” the performance is a tale about a baker who is held hostage by fairies who want her to bake them their favorite cakes.
