Fun at La Belle Amie Vineyard

Posted Thu, Apr 1st 2010, 15:29

Something is going on there all the time, almost every weekend, so don’t despair if you missed the fun on March 27th. The next event is April 3rd, and living is easy here, so check with La Belle Amie for their events calendar or just come on out for an afternoon adventure. This is a working vineyard, plenty to see and do, but it’s relaxing as well. For more info call 843.399.WINE (9463) or visit www.LaBelleAmie.com.

Have kids? Bring them along to the Grand Strand for golf outings. Some courses allow “juniors,” to play for free. Usually that means young people ages 16 and under. Check with Myrtle Beach National, Burroughs and Chapin, the Glens, Woodland Valley, Carolina Shores, and others. Interested in getting a junior on at a certain course? Ask us about that!

Navigating the Grand Strand roadways means knowing your city limits. The City of Myrtle Beach lies in the south part of the Strand, just one of about 124 cities, towns, and Census-designated places in Horry County. Some have names such as “Daisy” and “Twelvemile,” while others are more widely known such as Myrtle Beach and the very separate City of North Myrtle Beach.

“Play ball!” OK, so a few rain clouds linger today, but for the most part, we have blue skies, increasingly warmer temperatures, and a gentle breeze coming in from the out field. Recently, fans, both locally and across the states, turned out to watch the First Annual Jeff Butler Memorial Border Battle of baseball “titans,” also the Annual Michael Nash Soccer Tournament. Congratulations to the Chiefs for their tournament victory! Come play ball!

The best of the states’ high school basketball players from South and North Carolina converged on the Grande Strand this weekend to compete. Sports greats, both male and female, appeared on court at Socastee High School on Saturday night (girls’ game at 6:30 PM and guys at 8:30 PM). Friday morning, shown here, basketball guests staying at Prince rose at dawn to enjoy buffet breakfast at Prince’s 3500.
