Not Easy Being a Sea Turtle

Posted Fri, Jun 5th 2009, 4:52

Nearly 2 dozen rescued sea turtles (14 greens and 8 loggerheads) were returned to the sea this week after recuperating in a local turtle hospital. Ranging from 20 to 200 pounds, the endangered turtles received their individualized medical treatment at NC's Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center near Topsail Island. Some had nearly died due to a sudden severe cold snap last November. For more information about the Center, go to www.seaturtlehospital.org/.
