Lyrids Meteor Shower in April

Posted Wed, Apr 28th 2010, 09:20

If you took pre-dawn strolls on April 21st or 22nd, the eastern sky held a little surprise called the Lyrids Meteors, a “shower” effect of stars. Though notoriously unpredictable, some did watch (shown here in photo). If you missed that show, check the sky on May 5-7 for the Eta Aquarids Meteors. Fans say the best way to view is to get a chair, lie back, and wait.

The Biscuit Shack Returns as The Shack

Posted Fri, Apr 23rd 2010, 13:10

After a 30-year run as The Biscuit Shack, the restaurant on Sea Mountain Highway was about to come to an end but was brought back to life by the Boulineaus who own it, plus the hard work of restaurateurs Scott Childress and Todd Fineran who will open the restaurant in early May. Now returning smoke-free, the eatery will feature affordable breakfast, as before, and lunch. Come taste for yourself at The Shack when it opens.
